Rachael Howson – week one of SWS
Arriving at Seamill has been a breath of fresh air. Coming from a busy responsible life to being a participant on a course, where I don’t hold any responsibility, was a welcomed change for 6 weeks. The School of the Word and Spirit had an unexplainable depth even before anything was said. I attribute this to the many hours of prayer put in by the SWS staff as well as the culture that is cultivated at YWAM Seamill. Community and depth has always been important to me. With 13 participants and 6 staff, it’s a good size for us to all get to know and trust each other quickly.
We are just a few days in and we have already had a few very deep moments reading the Bible together, blessing one another and supporting one another as God realigns our perspective to His. Before coming, I was very excited about SWS, and kept thinking ‘I need to cap these emotions so I don’t have unrealistic expectations’. There was no need for me to worry – so far (one week in), SWS has exceeded my expeditions. Bring on the next 5 weeks.
